100 Cocktails Later

There’s a point in the night at which I’m supposed to know you’re there
And if you’re not the silence is too much
And I wake

100 cocktails later, we’re still the same but drunk
100 cocktails later we might know better

I haven’t changed much really
I still sit here at night working
Listening to Five Years
And happy for any amusing, trivial use of my brain

100 cocktails later, we’re still the same but drunk
100 cocktails later we might know better

There’s a point in life at which I’m supposed to know you’re there
And if you’re not the emptiness is too much
And I sleep

100 cocktails later, we’re still the same but drunk
100 cocktails later will we know anything?
