Waves And Particles

Waves and Particles
Dust particles in a shaft of sunlight by the window
They swirl, free in a way I envy
The pane is dirty, cracked
Rubbing it with my sleeve leaves smears
I look to the world outside
Has the sky ever been blue here?
A figure stands on the driveway
My sister, looking up at me
She is crying on the other side of the glass
I forgive her and convey it with a smile
She waves
It is enough.

They swirl, free in a way I envy
The pane is dirty, cracked
Rubbing it with my sleeve leaves smears
I look to the world outside
Has the sky ever been blue here?
