Who Are You?
Entry by: Hour of Writes
2nd December 2014
To a friend with a new lover
Are you still the same girl,
Or did they get you too
(who am I to talk in
my post-romantic paradise)
But really, do you still sit outside
Like a mad one
Smoking, drinking, gazing at
The moon?
Or did we get to you with
our demands to conform,
in our fear? A known one
told me once that you were brave.
I guess I wasn’t brave so I
didn’t understand;
We had all lost but you stayed strong
He said,
I understand now, and I want to
Know, do you sit
Still, dark and wet gazing at
The stars, or do you think
You have found them?
Are you still the same girl,
Or did they get you too
(who am I to talk in
my post-romantic paradise)
But really, do you still sit outside
Like a mad one
Smoking, drinking, gazing at
The moon?
Or did we get to you with
our demands to conform,
in our fear? A known one
told me once that you were brave.
I guess I wasn’t brave so I
didn’t understand;
We had all lost but you stayed strong
He said,
I understand now, and I want to
Know, do you sit
Still, dark and wet gazing at
The stars, or do you think
You have found them?
