We came
Pushing through hydrangeas
And old galvanised sheets
Leaving behind wasps in watery bottles
To see
To explore
A once great estate
Marrying under its exotic heart shaped leaves
When we were 8
Our wedding feast
Fallen apples
And odd shaped pears
Booty taken from behind the brick walled orchard
Our flag of conquest
A striped red teeshirt
Billowing on top
