Wind Doth Blow
Entry by: Jennysmurph
28th February 2022
The wind doth blow
and bringeth snow
the streets are mostly empty.
Six tiny mice
want to feel nice
and snug and warm and toasty.
Oh Mama please
we're going to freeze
if you don't bring a blanket.
I might stay here
Papa I fear
is out and not come home yet.
She leaves her spot
the fire so hot
and bundles up her babies.
The wind doth moan
the trees do groan
Her thoughts what ifs and maybes.
Papa meanwhile
lies in a pile
of snow so deep it's scary.
He sees a cat
Imagine that
He knows he should be wary.
Mister Feline
have you got time
to help me in a pickle.
I've heard the hype
I know your type
can tend towards the fickle.
He holds his breath
awaits his death
then a sudden pull-he's free!
the mouse looks round
there on the ground
mouse babies one, two, three.
Oh no he cries
my babies died
my heart is broken badly.
You stupid mouse
go check your house
your wife I left there gladly.
She is old
and I am told
they don't taste as good to us.
Run home quick
before I flick
you up and crunch your bones.
There's plenty more
behind the doors
of all the little mice homes.
So lost was he
he did not see
Papa mouse pick up a stick.
Take that you fiend
evil and mean
as the wind pulled off a trick.
It lifted him
so he could swing
and stab cat swift and sure.
Into the eye
with every try
his aim was deep, hard and pure.
It screeched and ran
as cats they can
and Papa mouse turned to mourn.
Interuption
I asked my kids
to wash a dish
and now I'm going crazy
I wish they'd stop
I'm going to pop
Its just they're all so lazy
own fault I know
for being slow
and leaving this til so late
I didn't get
that notes were let
and so I've sealed my fate.
Apologies
where do I ask questions and send messages such as this apologising for my entry going awry?
See yis next week :)
