Eyes like blue lakes
mirrors of my own
A smile full of kindness and love
I am never alone
My mothers love is in my heart
Even when we are separate

Her embrace is like a shield
Protecting me from the pain of my world
Though sometimes constricting
Her sharpest edges soften only for me
I cherish my mother like the air I breathe
And my hope is that I can be as good a mother as she's been to me

She can be kind and gentle
Or dangerous as a blade

My mother has a beautiful soul
Glittering with unstoppable light
No matter how down she gets
